An Egyptian staff officer was killed, on Sunday evening, in an armed attack of the "Sinai Province" organization affiliated with the terrorist organization "ISIS", south of the city of Sheikh Zuweid in the North Sinai Governorate, east of the country.

Military medical sources told Al-Araby that the Egyptian Army's Staff Brigadier General, Khaled Alaeddin, was killed by a sniper's bullet during the army's military operations south of Sheikh Zuweid.
The same sources added that the brigadier general is the commander of the Rapid Intervention Forces, which is one of the most important formations of the Egyptian army in North Sinai.
She pointed out that Brigadier General Alaa El-Din was the commander of "Force 888" to combat terrorism in the Egyptian army.
It indicated that the killing of the brigadier was the most serious terrorist attack in North Sinai during the past few months.
The attack comes after a period of relative security calm that prevailed in North Sinai in the last period.
