You're exaggerating. The prime minister did. He holds a higher position than the his deputy. You're falling to the trap. Tplf and their partners want you to blame your government for their crimes. They want to pit the 2 biggest ethnicities against each other. Theyre hoping for a repeat of Rwandan genocide. Brotherly advice if you destroy the main source evil (tplf) all others will cease. Tplf is the epitome of all evil.

Re: H.E Mr. Demeqe Mekonen has formally apologized to the people and Government of Eritrea!
What Amb. Dina Mufti reflected wasn't something out of the blue, it's main stream Ethiopia, probably Eritrea; only hard core TPLFites made such honest thoughts a taboo in the past for their ulterior motive of making Eritrea part of "Tigrai republic", when the right time arrived; fortunately that time would never arrive anymore.
They shot Ethiopian University Students for opposing Eritrean "Independence or referendum" peacefully in AA in the 90s. Now this former deputy of Meles, Ato Demeke is apologizing. Who is he apologizing? His former bosses? For what? Who got hurt by Dina's words except the dead TPLF?
Be that as it may, IMO, Professor Bereket Habtemariam's view in the following is a mainstream thought of Ethiopia & Eritrea. Dina's is closest to it.
Having said that, once upon a time, EPLF was known as the "አንጋፋው" Ethiopian Liberation Movement. If Isaias/PFDJ, now proceeds the "democratization" of Ethiopia from where it stopped as Prof. Bereket pointed out with the cooperation of Abiy/p2 more power to it.
The fact is Eritrea's "independence" is one of the main reasons that stopped "democratization" in Eritrea/Ethiopia. EPRDF "ethnic federation" ruined the rest of Ethiopia as we know it. The "non-ethnic conflict" based Eritrea still posses the core of the old Ethiopian State characteristics. Bottom line, working towards "unity" today, shall make those who sacrificed for the liberation struggle of Eritrea/Ethiopia to not go in vain.
Cheers!

I don't know why but I find comments made by Dawi-The-Tigrawi very fascinating, for they emanate straight from his Libi Tigray heart, albeit disguised as an expansionist fervor. An agame who had just lost his entire Tigray to Ethiopian forces to hear him talk about Eritrea would be very tragic if it weren't funny. He probably rolls around on his floor and cry like a hyena after typing his monotonous comments.
