Good point, but I don’t sense the new Biden administration has reached into that conclusion of the tplf is dead, yet... and I believe that’s why they are calling for Amhara liyu hayle withdrawal from their territory of wolkayit and raya that was annexed by the dead junta.

As you well know Biden's policy is essentially Obama's policy including the people who run it. America is Back, multilateralism, partnership, alliances, engagement etc....
In case of the Horn, what has changed in the entire alignment and balance of forces on the ground. There is No TPLF, Oromo forces are zillion time stronger, Amara is zillion time stronger, there is a sense of unity and a rising Ethiopianism, and most of Ethio-Eritrean alliance.
I agree with you that it is on this new situation that US has no coherent policy. In my view, this is why Coons is in Addis. What specific assignment he is given remains to be seen. Is it fact finding? It is some kind of negotiation? Is it some kind of confidence building? Is is spying on Abiye capacity and dig into his personality etc? We will know .
But definitely US has to upgrade its policy on Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Look around Addis and count the number of high rises with thousands of office spaces and living condos. Each and every one of them are rented occupied and still people are on waiting lists to rent one, to buy one.
You see, debt load and loan growth can not explain this massive capacity of the consumer to buy or rent.
Ethiopia is really growing but what is fueling this growth?
