Following the political assassination of the Oromo artist Hacaaluu Hundeessaa on June 29, 2020, the Ethiopian regime unlawfully imprisoned prominent Oromo political leaders, including Jawar Mohammed, Bekele Gerba, Colonel Gemmechu Ayana, Abdi Regasa, Micheal Boren, Gemmechu Kenasa , Dejene Tafa, Hamza Borena, Shamsuddin Xaahaa and many others - on a politically motivated trumped-up bogus charges. The Oromo political prisoners have been on hunger strike since January 28, 2021 to protest the wholesale violation of their fundamental rights, including the right to the presumption of innocence, the worsening of political condition for the Oromo people and the derailement of the promissed transition to democracy.

The health of these political prisoners on hunger strike has been deteriorating fast over the last two weeks. Recent reports confirm the health condition of six political prisoners on hunger strikehas rapidly detoriarated and they were transferred to hospitals for medical treatment. Medical professionals monitoring the health condition of prisoners on hunger strike confirmed that the health condition of prominent leaders such as Jawar Mohammed and Bekele Gerba has got to a critical stage where these leaders are facing realistic risks of Kidney failure and cardiac arrest respectively.

Unfortunately, the health condition of our leaders is expected to rapidly deteriorate further in the next few days with a likelihood of prolonged hospitalization and costly treatment regime over an extended period of time to try to reverse the damages caused by their starvation for justice.

We call up on the Oromo public and friends of Oromo to help pay for the medical treatment of our political leaders who are illegally imprisoned by the Ethiopian government for no fault of their own other than resisting tyranny through a non-violent method of resistance against this regime's brutalities.

Let's stand for justice by saving the lives of these leaders who have been starving themselves to seek justice for our people.

I am sure the contribution will surpass $1million soon. The Federal Prison will be in a better shape once they get to buy the equipment and the medications needed if the money collected is to be delivered for the intended purpose. I really am thankful for those who are contributing. It is inhuman to see prisoners die of hunger when in fact the diaspora can lend such a helping hand.

Why is this geltu Masude always on the lesser side when it comes to the actual actions (doings) while permanently claiming about being the majority on the talk side?

Mere talk can't make somebody a majority, deeds make it, here is the proof.

Not really, it is something else that is the cause.

It seems that only the Arsi Muftis have been driving it, while the Wollega mangas and the Ambo ergamtus said "No, we are not part of the machinations, 'don't play with our money'".
