Saudi Arabia, Eritrea foreign ministers discuss strengthening relations

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a meeting with his Eritrean counterpart, Osman Saleh Mohammed, in the capital Riyadh on Tuesday, state news Saudi Press Agency reported.



During the talks, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations and means of supporting and strengthening them, in addition to reviewing developments and issues of common interest.



Following the meeting, the ministers presided over the first session of the joint Saudi-Eritrean committee, during which they signed the minutes of the session.

ድሬዳዋ — የኢፌዴሪ የስደተኞችና ከስደት ተመላሾች ጉዳይ ኮሚሽን ከተባበሩት መንግሥታት የስደተኞች ጉዳይ ኮሚሽን (UNHCR) ጋር በመሆን በትግራይ የሚገኙ የኤርትራ ስደተኞችን ጎብኝተዋል። ስደተኞቹ በካምፑ ውስጥ ያለው ትምህርት መቋረጡ እና አንዳንዴ ምሽት ላይ ሽፍቶች እየመጡ ያላቸውን እንደሚዘርፏቸው መናገራቸውን የ/UNHCR/ ተወካይ ሚስተር ክሪስ መልዘር ለቪኦኤ አስታውቀዋል።

ስደተኞችን እያፈኑ ወደ ኤርትራ እየወሰዷቸው ነው የሚለውን ክስ ግን በወሬ ደረጃ ብንሰማም ከስደተኞች ማረጋገጫ አላገኘንም ብለዋል። የኢትዮጵያ መንግሥት በበኩሉ በሀገሪቱ ከሚገኙ 1 ሚሊዮን ገደማ ስደተኞች መካከል ችግር ያጋጠማቸው ኢምንት እንደሆኑ ገልጾ ለእነሱም መሰረታዊ ፍላጎቶቻቸውን እያሟላን ነው ብሏል።
