When the election gets closer, EZEMA will be going out in full force to assert Ethiopian agenda that could possibly set it for a collusion course with the tribal parties that are "governing" the country. The campaign to tarnish the image is just warming up and testing the water to see which bad omen could stick. EZEMA has a huge chance to pick up seats in most of the urban areas including Addis. This makes the party a threat to most ethnic ideologues. I ain't surprised a bit!!

The ethno -fascists tried to paint EZEMA with Amhara brush for the longest. When that failed, they are now trying the Guraghe color if it glitters brighter. We will take EZEMA as credible more than any of the fascist parties at any day despite its shortcomings.

Many of you made good points. Allow me to add new points here. I think we need to ask why EZEMA is unable or unwilling to attract more diverse individual leaders? Or why is it that not diverse elites are willing or able to join?

Question: Why is there barrier (for leaders with diverse ethnic backvround) to enter EZEMA leadership.

Is there barrier to entry due to folks that are inside EZEMA making it harder for new comers in order to resist diversity in its leadership?

Or

Is there barrier to entry due to ethnic based organizations, making it harder for folks to go join EZEMA, in order to weaken non ethnic based organizations.

Answer: The answer is in between. There is some attempt internally at EZEMA for hegemony and there is some attempt by outsiders to deny EZEMA diverse base. Hegemony is seen as good for mobilization and cohesion so EZEMA may see it beneficial. Ethnic based organizations may see EZEMA as a threat so they may tarnish EZEMA to make it unattractive choice for their ethnic base.
