Re: በስንቱ አሸማቀቃችሁን! Seyoum Teshome for the first time criticizes Dr. Abiy on the PM's remark on the issue of Addis Ababa
After the main stream and social media outrage, the Addis Ababa administration is backtracking from its practice of discriminating Addis Ababans in Addis Ababa. We are witnessing the same pattern again and again. That is why press freedom is a precious asset in a society.

Discrimination is legally acceptable in tribal kilils but you can't bring that kind of garbage practice to Addis. Being multilingual should be encouraged and schools should also encourage to teach more than one language. That is all fine and well but you can't exclude 90% Addis Ababans from the government workforce in their own city. That is not acceptable. If you make speaking more than one language as a criteria to get a government job in Addis Ababa that is discriminating against more than 90% of Addis Ababans and is unacceptable. We all know that the majority of Addis Ababans don't even want to be employed in government jobs. Economically speaking government jobs are not significant at all but It is a matter of principle. Even without this directive, currently more than 90% government employees in Addis are not Addis Ababans because Addis Ababans don't like low paying government jobs.tolcha wrote: ↑25 Oct 2020, 17:27Ha ha haa ha aha ha ah!
