Here is how Daud Ibsa made the OLF out of action, whether by design or mere coincidence

Post by DefendTheTruth » 18 Sep 2020, 16:01

Daud Ibsa debelitated the organization he is supposed to lead as a chairman, says his own organization's high-ranking official.

- First he put the GA out of work and rendered it ineffectual, simply by suspending the regular meeting of the body, which should have happened every 4 years for over 20 years.

- Then he made the Central Committee itself powerless and declared its official meeting void and null on his own (as an individual), which he is not allowed by the bylaw of the organization itself, according to the same official again.

- Then he came out and declared that he also suspended the whole Executive Committee and then turned around and created his own (new) Executive Committee, which is not allowed by the bylaw of the organization, the official added.

He (Daud) essentially made the organization a one man show, a truly dictator. If he is leading his own organization in such a dictatorial rule, there is no way that he will not offer the same ruling style to the wider public, if he is to be allowed to get the chance. He should be stopped, says his own comrade in arms.

That's the weakness of liberation organizations. Look at EPLF and how it became one man show after so much sacrifices on all sides. The youth is fleeing out of "liberated" home land non stop

Why he chose to shape the “ liberation” movement in his image ? Some might argue he is dictatorial by nature. I am not one of them. I argue differently. He chose to be dictatorial because there was no common political principle all the OLF leaders agreed upon. The tired Amhara bashing is not a rallying force anymore. For how long a liberation front defines itself by people it claims to abhor ? There should be a visionary outlook. The OLF lacks that. Recently, it was reported Daud made OLF a family business, awarding power to those who grew up at the same village as he.
But if OLF stood to “liberate” Oromia its leadership composition should reflect somehow the geography of Oromia. How many Oromos from Ilbabour are in the OLF leadership ? And how many are from Western Wellega ?
Once politicians assume people of the same ethnic group understands politics the same way, it does not stop there. They become more comfortable when talking politics with somebody from the same “Awraja,” and even most comfortable talking with the a person from the same “ wereda.” The village tops it all. Sebhat once quoted saying there are not patriots or thinkers born in Mekele, something close to that he was quoted to have said. That statement exemplifies the very nature of ethnic politics : people are never be judged as individual rather as a group. When people are judged that way the we versus them concept, if not hostility, always be there. Daud’s willingness to surround himself with the “we” therefore is not surprising.

Defend,
I am seeing your tendency as an Eritrean to disgrace our hero as Oromo Nation, a typical behavior of traditional enemies Amharic aka lepers. In your comment under one of my threads, I asked you how come the nation that fails to stand from sunrise to sun down be Lion and seek to adopt heroism of lion as its initial? I reminded you if you do remember that Ethiopian army that was largely Oromo fighters did to you. You are still begging Oromo to regain your land. Don’t forget that I advised you. Okay?
In the same thread, I responded the following to your wrong comment- You are right in some way. Gada system is egalitarian democracy and hence changes government leaders every 8 years in the era of sovereign Oromia. But Oromia is now under siege by leper habeshas and hence forcing us not to exercise our true and exemplary democracy. I hope we will soon regain that status quo and show the globe how democracy operates. The guy in the video you posted seems unknown in the Oromo struggle against colonial regime to liberate Oromia. Here is the popular lion of Oromo nation and Oromia. The other igneous by the name Jal Marro is in the bush as fighter for Oromia’s freedom.
I offered you to enjoy the roaring lion aka Jal Daud Ibsa.
