True Ethiopians are encompassing the Oromo way of life as an Ethiopian way of life and that would going to make the difference on how Ethiopia will move from here on and reach its final destiny of glory, one day.

Dr. Lia Tadesse a role model for thousands or millions of young Ethiopian girls (and in fact boys as well), who are going to aspire to reach where she reached in her career will see this video and identify themselves with what they see on her and emulate it in millions for themselves as well.

I think to have read or heard somewhere a comment made about His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I to have missed an opportunity that would have changed the course of Ethiopian politics for ever and to the better.

The story goes like this: he was requested/hinted to address his audience in Afan Oromo (in Addition to Amharic) in one of his public speeches, but the Emporer declined to do so, according to the story, while he was in fact said to be perfectly fluent in the language.

If this could have made a big impact could be debated but one thing is certain that he could have spoken to the hearts and minds of millions of his subjects and made them think that he is one of their own.


Probably a missed opportunity, I think.

Another missed opportunity on this line is the failure of current day political party in the name of EZEMA (Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice or የኢትዮጵያ ዜጎች ለማህበራዊ ፍትህ), which failed or refused to add Afan Oromo as one of its working language while claiming that it is for all Ethiopians (cross ethnic boundaries in the country, while many of their contemporary political parties are marred by this deficiency already from the get go).

I raised this issue on this forum to one of the party's ardent supporter in the character of Horus but this guy failed to answer this important point and that will be the central malaise of the party for many years to come, in my view.
