The average life span of a minister within the the PP party looks only few months! That is an indication of a leadership failure. Though I understand that PM Abiy may have a challenge of finding the right people from the corrupted PP and other opportunistic individuals, the constant change of ministers and recycling of some to different posts will further destabilize the country, frustrate the hope of the people and drail the change management process.

When politics is based solely on identity, that is the result to be expected. Until we move, as a country, to a defined ideological based democratic politics, merit based professionalism will only be an elusive concept. We will limp until whatever left is sucked up and the country finally succumbs to oblivion. TPLF brought such politics to our country and ya all still cheer for it to be the epilogue. Now stop finger pointing at others and look inside of your own cave...

As far as I know ethnic based assignment has been there all the time including the emperors, Derg( militery/ethinic mix), and EPRDF and now PP. But the problem is irrespective of ethnicity opportunistic yes men/women are given promotions while assertive capable people are pushed out of the system that has been the culture of promotion in Ethiopia.

Yes, that is as far as you know. The gist of my post was to change what is "as far as you know" and try what is a seemingly foreign concept to you, but have been tried and proven to work elsewhere. There are no assertive and capable people in the current identity based politics unless those individual are backed by assertive and capable base. All seem only to live for the moment and let tomorrow worry for itself. Change starts form within is a proverbial truth.
