Support to disadvantaged families

Massawa, 12 August 2020- Residents of the administrative areas of Bada, Buya, Engel-Ela, Engel and Bordoli, Gelalo sub-zone in the Southern Red Sea region, as well as members of the Eritrean Defense Forces in the areas extended food items worth 17 thousand and 500 Nakfa to disadvantaged families.
Similarly members of the Eritrean Defense Forces in Ghinda sub-zone extended 7 thousand and 500 Nakfa in support of disadvantaged citizens while Ms.
Elsa Russom, resident in the UK, extended 10 thousand Nakfa to 25 disadvantaged families.
In related news, a number of house owners inside the country and abroad decided that the families renting their houses in various parts of the country to live free of rental payment ranging from four months until the COVID-19 pandemic is contained.
More financial and material support
Keren/Mendefera, 12 August 2020 – Financial and material support was extended to war disabled veterans, as well as disadvantaged families in Anseba and Southern Regions.
Accordingly, the Eritrean National War-Disabled Veterans’ Association branch in Anseba Region extended financial support to 364 members in the nine sub zones of the region. The report further indicated that 322 thousand 800 Nakfa was extended to disadvantaged families in Dekemhare-Dembezan, Adi-Tekelezan sub zone and another 5 thousand in Adi-Golagul.
Similarly, the Eritrean National War-Disabled Veterans’ Association branch in the Southern Region extended financial support to 11 families of its members and food item support was extended to 77 families in Safira administrative area.
Likewise, the National Association of Citizens with Intellectual and Developmental Disability on its part extended material support to 32 members in Mendefera sub zone and 146 thousand Nakfa was distributed to families of the martyrs in Adi-Gawul.
In related news, a number of nationals in Adi-Tekelezan, Adi-Keih and Mendefera sub zones have decided that the families renting their houses to live free of rental payments.
Contribution to augment National Fund
Asmara, 13 August 2020- Eritrean nationals in Dubai contributed 16 thousand and 301 Durham and nationals in Abu Dhabi 2 thousand and 40 Durham, to the effort to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
According to report from the Eritrean Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, so far Eritrean nationals in the UAE have contributed over 2 million and 69 thousand Durham.
Similarly, St. Michael cooperative association in Stavanger, Sweden, contributed 7 thousand Kroner while the Norway branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women contributed 56 thousand and 200 Kroner.
In related news, Eritrean nationals residing in Norway, Sweden, Italy and Germany decided that the families renting their houses at home to stay free of rental payment for two months.
