አዝሚና የአፋሯ ንግስተ-ሳባ የመጀመሪያ መጠሪያ ስሟ አንዴ ነበር ያውቃሉ። አዝሚና ከደቡብ እስያ ባርያ ገቢ ንግድ ስለማድረጓስ? ብዙዎቻችን የባርያ ንግድ ሲባል በጥንተ አባጂፋር እና ንጉስ ጦና ዘመን ከኢትዮጵያ ታፍነው ወደ ውጭ በግፍ ስለተሸጡት ወገኖች ብቻ ነበር። በጥንት በአዝሚና ወይም ንግስተ-ሳባ ዘመን ከየመን እና ከደቡብ ህንድ በርካታ ባርያ በመግዛት ለጉልበት ሥራ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ይገባ ነበር። በንግስተ-ሳባ ወይም በአዝሚና ዘመን የባርያ ግብር ከደቡብ የመን ይሰበሰብ ነበር።

Afar people are still nomads. Nomadic people cannot sustain kingdoms based on pastoralism. Kingdoms need to feed and raise an army. It is unlikely that Queen Sheba is from Afar.
She is probably from Agame. Tigray uses Geez and Tigrigna very closely related to Geez, Coptic, Arabic and Hebrew. Agame is one of the districts in Tigray with long standing history of military campaigns into neighbouring communities. Tigray in general is the base of aksumite Kingdom and the home of Makeda, Queen of Sheba.
