Congratulations and Happy 29th Independence Anniversary to Kubur Bitsay President Isaias Afwerki, and the selfless members of our government, our defense forces, our healthcare providers and the people of Eritrea everywhere.
The last couple of months have shown the world that people and government working hand in hand can overcome many obstacles. Lowering the curve on COVID-19 is a grand achievement by any standards, we should all be proud. Let us build on our strengths as a people, and cement our time tested values and principles.
Peace in our region, as Africa strives to silence the guns, is another reason for us to celebrate. The peace in the Horn region needs to be consolidated and we all have a role to play.
This pandemic has tested our capacities, let us endeavor to build back stronger and smarter, and empower our people to create more miracles.
I know many of us are hurting this day, we have lost precious comrades, friends and family, and our hearts are grieving great losses. But today is a sacred day in the life of Eritrea...so let's put on our best face forward and hail Eritrea's birthday...
Happy Independence everyone....
