Context:
Bloomberg – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is facing opposition from one of his closest allies in his proposal to merge the ruling coalition into a new party.
Defense Minister Lemma Megersa said he
disagrees with the rushed merger of political parties, according to an interview with the Voice of America. Lemma is the deputy chairman of Abiy’s Oromo Democratic Party.
Lemma said he also
opposes Abiy’s new philosophy to unite the country, called “Medemer,” directly translated as “to add.”

Eden, if the story is true, you learn something here. There is no an Oromo ideology or policy all Oromos agree on. There no an Amhara politics that all Amharas could sign on. There are no a Tigre political concept that all Tigreans agree upon. Eden, people think and act individually. It is time to do away from the Stalin’s philosophy. It is a healthy politics that Abiy and Lemma disagreed.
On top of that their politics manifests their upbringing and experience. Lemma grew up in Wellga. Like Tigray Wellega was the home of the majority of one ethnic group. Like tribal politics manifested itself in Tigray, it did in Wellga as well.
Jimma is different. It is not exactly like Diredwa, but still people of different group have lived together there. And obviously Abiy cannot be as tribal as Lemma could be in his politics.

Sam,
You on the money regarding the multi-ethnicity of Jima, Agaro. Here is one evidence. This song is about 60 years old. To my knowledge, Gurages wrote a song for Agaro even before Addis. When I was a child, I used to think that Agaro was a Gurage town! This is Abiye's root.

Horus, I was at supermarket checkout counter when I read your feedback. I heard the song as soon as I get in my car. Yes, I remember the music. Thanks for posting it.

What makes you think Agaro is Gurage's town; other than reflecting your tribalism. Now you blame other ethnic when they talk the town they live in as theirs... you MF bieech! I have never ever seen narrow minded self centered like Gurages. Your people live throughout Oromia without any problem , yet you insult Oromos from your bone.
