The flag on the right side was used by Twedros. Tedros is a hero to many of us. Using the flag of Tewedros will stregnthen Ethiopian nationalism and unity. Emperor Twedros was betrayed by Emperor Yohannes. Yohnaaes used the current Ethiopian flag. Menelik betrayed Yohnnes and Menelik used the current flag. I thinkboth Yohannes and Menelik should be condemned. Menelik gave Eritrea and Djibouti to colonial powers as a result of which Ethiopia lost trillions of dollars and is now in captivity by Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan and Somalia

Britain used Twedros flag to honour it's war veterans (returnees from Magdala). Queen victoria and the Ethiopian cross are part of the medals given to British returnees after they defeated Tewedros and Twedros shot himself instead of being captured.
