The current political climate is trending back to the old zero sum game. There is a chance that the great achievements of the past two years can go down the drain if things go out of control. One should hope that the situation will not go out of control. The scenarios that can follow under the current political climate are very scary to say the least. All political parties, including the government should think carefully about the consequences of their decision on the future of Ethiopia. Lessons should be taken from the past. The emergence of Eritrea basically is due to lack of political will by then leaders to accommodate the issues raised by Eritrean liberation fronts. Time was all it needed.
Government has every power, both military and political, to do what ever it wants. But that can be at the expense of the future. It might mean Ethiopia will be back to the old ways with no democratic Ethiopia in sight.
Hope is all we have at the moment and we all have to hope for the best.
