Originally Most Amhara muslims have Christian ancestors, it is not normal for Islam to have such high percentages in the lands of South Wollo which has a Ancient Christian heritage which was destroyed by Ahmed’s Gragn Islam, for example Were Ilu aka Bete Giyorgis was known for her Golden Orthodox Church, this means everything west of Bete Giyorgis Woreda was Christian this means 90-80% of amhar Muslims have Christian Heritage ruined by Ahmed Gragn due to the lack of Kings in the region of Wollo which is why the name is Wollo and not bet amhara

Am not from wollo, but Ahmed did not change the demographic of Ethiopia, in fact it was Yohannes who did the most,

yes i agree most of those Muslims in wollo are from shewa and gonder who try to flee christian tyranny

Interesting analysis but does not explain reasons like why Mekdela is 80% Muslim even though it borders South Gondar this cannot be explained other then Ahmed’s Jihad
