Tigray is Ethiopia proper. Amhara and Oromo and others are additions to Tigray. Tigray is Ethiopia itself and cannot secede.
Tigray is not poor. It has poor leadership. TPLF is corrupt and has underdeveloped Tigray. This will change when Tigray people elect a new government.
Tigray has large resources, good weather free of malaria compared to Oromo and other regions in South Ethiopia. Tekezze River, Raya, Enderta and Shire are good agricultural lands. Wolqait and Tsegede including Humera are also good fertile land.
TPLF is more controlling than contributing to development. The people are threatened by TPLF security network and the whole system is corrupt ( despotism/awarjawinet is pervasive).
TPLF might improve and serve the people with honesty and justice (landgrabbing should be stopped). The local population should not leave their place of birth involuntarily.
