President Isaias' open criticism of TPLF's policy of polarizing Ethiopians ethnically made some Ethiopians lose their mind, particularly those who championed ethnic federalism as a vehicle to achieve their long sought dreams of secession.

President Isaias simply ask, "Why would you like the society ethnically polarized for the sake of secession?"

Some Ormo and Tigrayans are out in full force to attack the President's remark because they felt directly challenged by the remark as both have had prior motives of secession through the Oromo People's Liberation Front and Tigrayan People's Liberation Front, respectively.

The question is, what did Ethiopians actually gain from this "ethnic federalism" policy in the past 28 years than the current state of insecurity, division and possibly disintegration in to smaller ethnic states?

- Do Ethiopians know they are on the verge of disintegration because of this evil policy?

- Do Ethiopians realize such polarization along ethnicity made them no longer safe to freely move, live, work, etc... in their own country except within their ethnic region or ክልል?

- Do Ethiopians realize their Universities have become a killing zone due to conflicts between different ethnic students?

- Do Ethiopians realize they could be better off if they live as Ethiopians, united under one country than a set of worthless and dysfunctional small states?

I don't think they do.

So, when President Isaias challenged them to change course else they will be doomed, these ungrateful lots (and some conflict entrepreneurs) made a lot of noise.

Sometimes I wonder if Eritrea need to sit tight and watch Ethiopia implodes or save itself. Am serious.
