fed system is very simple to understand .. for example if Eritrea join us they will not lose their sovereignty .. they will enjoy what sovereignty give them to fullest such as self governing they will count their own election, they control their own resources for example just because they join Ethiopia they will not lose Assab income all the income from Assab goes to state of Eritrea but they only pay fed. tax on it.. now the advantage of having fed system is Eritrea will not send their own embassy all over the world instead Ethiopia and Eritrea will share resources to do the foreign affair...

just imgine if America is 54 independent nation u will need 54 visa to go from one state to other .. in Africa case the same we need 54 visa to go insides Africa all this would have avoid by having one passport and one visa .. and even one currency ... we will have one national bank that is responsible to printing the money hence we will not be like Zimbabwe mugabe printing money like paper
